The New 90210: My New Crush

For those of you who don't have access to E4 or youtube I would like to extent to you a Simpson's Nelson-esque 'ha-ha'. You are missing out! The hottest new show - which I dare to deem better than Gossip Girl – is here. Your rents may remember the original ‘90210’, but considering I don’t think I was even conceived when that was all the rage, you’ll have to take their word on how good it was. Having undergone a ‘revamp’ the show is back with a fresh young cast all with much more conventional, and less embarrassing, haircuts - though you may recognize a few Beverly Hills veterans who have managed to swindle their way back into our living rooms.

So what does the show have to offer? Well its jammed pack with your everyday pregnancies, drug addictions and love triangles and all within the Beverly Hills zip code. (Hey, who doesn’t like watching rich kids in crappy situations?) But that’s typical of any teen show around today, what makes 90210 different? Two words: Ethan Ward (played by Dustin Milligan) – well we all need eye candy. This sexy, supposedly 16-year-old, jock won my heart the minute he whipped out the pentapus (no idea what I’m talking about? Tune in), plus he's funny. In a sentence, Ethan cheated on his then girlfriend Naomi only to realize he really wanted Annie, the new girl who happens to be both poor (in comparison) and the principal’s daughter. So far, their relationship hasn’t undergone too many Chair like will-they-won’t-they moments – thank god! - But I’m beginning to prefer them as a couple to Chuck and Blair.

So if you haven’t started watching yet, you can catch up on the web and watch episode 4 ‘The Bubble’ on E4 on Monday or Wednesday. And I’ll be waiting for next weeks U.S. episode ‘Of Heartbreaks and Hotels’.

P.S. Anyone at the same point in the series as me – do you hate Rhonda or what? She is 90210's very own Oliver Trask (anyone remember The O.C?)
